Bangalore Airport Terminal 1

Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport is the main international gateway to the Indian city of Bangalore (Bengaluru) and to the state of Karnataka.

It was recognized in 2015 as the “Best Regional Airport in Central Asia” by Skytrax. Other awards given are “the Best Emerging”, “the Best Managed” Airport and the LEED Gold award on environmental issues. 

BKIA Airport consists of a single passenger terminal, Bangalore Airport Terminal 1, which hosts both domestic and international flights and is able to handle over 20 million passengers per year.

Levels

Bangalore Airport Terminal 1 is divided into four different levels and handles both domestic and international services:

Ground level

Arrivals are hosted here.

Facilities are distributed as it follows: Domestic and International check-in hall to the left, Domestic and International arrivals to the right. 

Domestic services are hosted in the red channel and International services in the green:

Green Channel

International Arrivals, Duty-free shops and a café. 

Red channel

Domestic Arrivals, food & drink and shops.

First level

This is the Departures Level.

To the left there is the Domestic Departures and to the right the International Departures.

It also hosts Domestic departure lounges, International departure lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges (both International and Domestic) and VIP lounges. 

Gate areas

Domestic Departures gates 1 – 7, swing gates 8 – 11, International Departures gates 12 – 17, 19 and 20.

Other services and amenities: Emigration checks (7), custom and international security check, duty-free shops and several stores, food & drink, and The New Day Hotel.

Terminals are located within 600 metres distance. There are free shuttle buses between both terminals every 10 minutes.

Air India Maharajah Lounge: First level, Domestic area. Open from 04:30 am to last departure. Services: Snacks, Wi-Fi, Newspapers, Magazines, TV, Internet terminals. Please note it is a non-smoking facility.
